Developer Update 8
Hello guys, Pelekon, a developer here on Atlantiss, grab a coffee or continue on eating your dinner as you tune in to this 8th post of its kind, hope you’ll like it.
Lately we’ve released the last bosses of Dragon Soul in normal mode, I am very satisfied with this fact and hopefully, I’m not alone on this one :)
At the same time as most of you probably already noticed the Heroic version is underway, being worked on daily. Right now I am in the process of implementing the Hagara encounter and rewriting the “Lighting Phase”, and upon dealing with this we’ll close the process of scripting and begin the process of testing. Very much satisfied with the progress and soon enough all of you will be able to enjoy the fruits of this work as you fight for that Realm First achievement.
Most of these quests are already scripted as we mentioned a few times previously, the daggers will be enabled together with the Heroic version of Dragon Soul. For now, there’s nothing left than to wait and see who will be the first lucky player to wield them first.
The magic Island for which many of you waited for so inexorably was enabled on the 6th of May. Most of our developers worked on it, switching from time to time, but ultimately it has been finished. Thanks to Krecik, Bandy, Piklo and Herkor for their awesome job done on this area.
Some players already know I plan to spend some time to majorly rework and fix the bugs that have been bothering a few classes on Dragonwrath. I already made notes concerning the most irksome bugs of every class. But, unfortunately, due to an excess of projects at my university, I wasn’t able to sit down and begin this work, but I will surely do it once I deal with the uni. Therefore, have no fear, the classes which you play with will surely work better :)
With Alliance having a substantial excess of player in comparison to Horde in evening European hours there’s some fresh stuff for the PvP players of Dragonwrath, the most important and fundamental part of this system is ready, it’s not perfect yet so it needs some polishing. Most are already waiting for this system and some think it has been abandoned, nothing more erroneous, I do plan on finishing it, but it’s not that easy due to various reasons. Cross BGs require a solid planning when it comes to how the matchmaking would work, we don’t want the battle to be fought only between players of one faction, or that the players would battle as one specific faction, these are exactly the main issues which needs more in n’ out consideration. We also do realize this is not Blizzlike, that is why it won’t be a permanent solution and maybe will also be used in the future to be enabled in hours when Dragonwrath’s online is low, when most is sleeping or at work/school, only of course if the players will ask for it.
What will the future bring?
Personally, I’d love to mention some of the various ideas that are in my head, but I’ll refrain from it, after all, there needs to be something to mention in the future Developer Updates ;)
For this moment I can assure you that once we release the Heroic version of Dragon Soul we won’t cease the progress on Dragonwrath, we’ll continue to polish it as we know that Heroic version doesn’t complete the Cataclysm expansion on Atlantiss, and as our goal was always to reach the 100% of content available in the best quality possible we’ll still pursue that goal with hopefully enabling the last quest chain of Twilight Highlands and most probably Vashj’ir, but more information on it will be released once we decide it’s okay and feel comfortable with it.
